Contrasting
with the sister-province of Ciudad de La Habana, tourism in this
region is characterized by a predominance of the natural environment
over urban attractions.
That space, sought by a part of the tourists, eager to have a peaceful
and comforting recreation, is in the province of La Habana.
Several hotel facilities have been designed to welcome the tourist
and meet all the needs for natural healthful enjoyment. The hotel
Las Yagrumas, next to the Ariguanabo river, the camping bases in
Santa Cruz, the beach of Jibacoa, where the hotel Breezes Jibacoa
and the Villa Trópico operate.
For the purposes of tourist animation, it has been created in the
zone of El Salado beach a center, named Blue Reef, where courses
on aquatic tourism are offered. There, the visitor can receive the
necessary information for night-time diving and nautical motor sports.
Another similar offer is that of the diving center "El Abra",
favored by the presence of coral reefs.
The sight of the tourist can not be indifferent before the presence
of numerous beaches where oil extraction takes place in benefit
of the country's economy.
The visitor who prefers fishing is offered, in a center located
in the shore of Batabanó, the possibility to fish valuable
crustaceans like shrimp and lobster, which will become later savory
dishes in the table of the tourist.
This province hosts the facilities of the factory producing the
worldwide prestigious Havana Club Rum.
